We visited from Canada, and everyone we spoke to before coming recommended this tour. We were not disappointed. Our tour guide Wendy was very knowledgeable and a great ambassador for the city. The information we learned made the rest of our stay in the city much more interesting as we had a great background on how the city came to be as it is. Thanks Wendy!

Living in NYC and having taken a similar tour around Manhattan I thought this tour would be interesting but nothing to write home about. Boy, was I wrong! The Architecture River Tour was impressive. But the real gem of the tour was the tour guide, Wendy! Her energy and excitement came through every time she spoke. I came to look forward to learning more and more through the 75 minutes and at no point did I look at my watch and wonder when I was going to get off this boat! On suggestion of one of the employees my colleague and I sat in the middle and while it didn't disappoint I think if I were to take something similar again I'd sit in the first row - which would have eliminated any object on the boat from my view (and the amazing pictures we were able to take!). Again, this tour is completely worth the money (though be smart and use a groupon/buy online to save!) and if you can ask for the tour that Wendy is working. We took the Sunday tour @ 6:30 and were able to get the best of both worlds - day and night pictures!

The Architecture Cruise was better than I had anticipated it would be. The large deck offers comfortable seating and refreshments were available.

Our narrator, Ben, has a lot of knowledge about Chicago architecture and a wicked sense of humour. The boat took us out to the mouth of the river where we could take in the Chicago skyline as well.

Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants a relaxing tour of the river.

So grateful to have such a nifty friend. Her perusing has lead to this beautiful experience. Even months after, I still feel some sort of nostalgia brought about by the beautiful brick buildings of the older establishments in Chicago, perfectly complemented by the modern skyscrapers. Just during this time, there were at least 5 more structure being built - a lot of them trying to surmount others.

I'd say that this was my favorite part of the trip. From the first day I've stepped foot in Chicago, I've been awed by its architectural beauty. Through this cruise, I was able to see more of the buildings that were next to the river. It's amazing to see different designs that were molded by the different eras they were planned in. It's very educational and fun.

If you are a fan of such architecture, whether it is your first time in Chicago, or has been born and bred here, I would suggest that you let yourself be ensnared in fascination by this wonderful city through this cruise.

Wow! Took the Saturday night architecture and fireworks cruise. One of the most enjoyable and - most awesomely surprising - educational. I loved our tour guides' passion (I believe it was Victor) for his city, the fact he had told us about his investment in his city by attending meetings for architecture and the inclusion of the different buildings into the Chicago skyline...the guide was awesome. He won my respect as a person that just didn't give tours, he wanted to influence the city in a personal way. He had so much quality information with the occasional funny little comment - it made me smile. There was so much great information that I could come back a couple more times and get even more information. Check in was easy, buying the tickets was relatively smooth and he crew were top notch for our ride - all timed perfectly to enjoy the Saturday night Chicago fireworks!!!
