This year my experience (with CarTrawler (Cartrawler Uk - 13 reviews, 12 one star out of five )) was simular to the one below. Axa doesn't do anything for you! They don't even answer your e-mails. Some years ago I canceled an Axa-insurance because customer-care was non-existent.

We had an extremely unpleasant experience with the customer care personnel regarding the AXA accident damage refund which we had booked online. Before picking the car at the rental desk in Spain, the rental agency informed us that if we proceeded with Axa insurance booked via cartrawler, we've to deposit at least 1200€. Since this wasn't acceptable, we called the customer care and request to cancel the Axa insurance booked online. There were outrageous arguments made and even though we informed and requested to cancel the insurance before picking the car keys, the agency was very adamant in not returning the accident damage fee. We ended up taking another insurance and this Axa thing was an utter waste of money. After returning, I politely requested the customer care to refund the Axa insurance by providing proofs of pick up time (rental agreement invoice), phone call logs (stating times we reached the customer care before picking keys) but nevertheless they shamelessly refused to refund the amount. Never ever book an online insurance. And do avoid such companies! No wonder they have tie ups with flight agencies to make sure they are in business! All in all - a HORRIBLE experience.
