Called American Weathermakers to troubleshoot a furnace that would not put out heat. Left a message after hours on 10/26. Did not hear back from them, so called again around lunch time on 10/27. Scheduled a service call for 10/28 for an $89 weekend service fee, which I agreed to. Tech came out as scheduled and troubleshot the furnace. He determined that the draft inducer motor needed to be replaced. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He did not have a replacement assembly in his truck, and was unable to quote me an exact cost, but gave me a range of $707-$950 to complete the repair. He stated parts would have to be ordered on Monday, 10/30, and the soonest he'd be able to return to effect the repair would be 10/31. I agreed, and paid the service call fee as well as a $100 deposit for the parts. I called on 10/30 to get an update, and was told that the parts had been ordered, and that I would be contacted to schedule an appointment to perform the repair. It's now been 10 days and have still had no contact. I ended up performing the repair myself, with parts I received from an online source. With the cold temperatures we've had locally (below freezing), I find it very unreasonable to have to wait over a week to have the repair done, especially when numerous sources have the replacement parts in stock and available for next day delivery. The cost was also out of line, as the average cost for the parts needed, from multiple sources, was in the $175 to $225 range, and the repair itself is a simple task taking less than 30 minutes. Needless to say, I will not be using this vendor for any future HVAC work, and recommend that others avoid them as over-priced and non-responsive.

Update- American Weathermakers finally called back on 11/14 at a little after 2pm to schedule an appointment to send someone out to replace the draft inducer motor assembly. So it apparently took them more than two weeks to get the part that I was able to receive overnight. And this during a period where we had numerous days of below zero temperatures.

We recently started using this company. We had a regular maintenance service performed. the technician who did the work was very competent, explained everything carefully and was friendly. The price was reasonable. We prepay for annual maintenance work. Usually I do not participate in these kinds of programs. However, in this case I felt there was real value: discount on maintenance service, priority service in emergencies and a small discount on repairs. There is also the intangible benefit of making sure we order the service on a timely basis since we are already paying for it. In the past I had inadvertently skipped fall and spring servicing from time to time. That won't happen any more. All in all a reputable company that is easy to deal with.

For heating and air conditioning service there is not a finer company. From start to finish it, it is an amazing experience. They answer the phone promptly, they set up appointments at your convenience, thy are always there within minutes of the time requested, and the products they use and the technicians who come out are always 1st rate. I strongly recommend American Weathermakers..

American Weathermakers is reliable, quick with their service calls, and offers an array of excellent products. Today, their service technician, Rick Miller, promptly diagnosed the issue with our furnace. Although he was able to keep it running, we agreed that it was time for an updated, efficient version. The quote was very competitive, and the work will be done this week! (Thank you so much!) I would highly recommend American Weathermakers for all of your HVAC installations and maintenance. AW continues to service all of our home and commercial needs!
