Charley's used to be the place I would tell people "if you want a fantastic steak dinner there is only 1 location in town to go".
I've been to Charley's several times & the 1st few times it was fantastic, but that time before this last it wasn't the best; however I just chalked it up to an off night.
This dinner experience was far from what I had expected from Charley's.
The food was far less than the superior food enjoyed in the past, the service was severely lacking.
The dining room attendant was more attentive than our waiter, so we made certain to call him over & tip him separately.
After serving in the industry myself for more than 12yrs I understand the issues that can occur in the " front of house" verse "back of house", or dinning room verse kitchen this night had both
We are normally 20% (or sometimes more if it's a perfect evening) tippers, but we only tipped 12% plus the separate $20 we gave the dining room attendant.
Our bill was a $400+ so the waiter still earned a decent amount but he could've made more. We might have tipped the full 20% even if the kitchen was off as long as he did his job well, but he didn't.
What they did do was lower our bill because we sent back the crab legs.
They called it a "customer appreciation deduction".
That was in addition to removing the cost of the crab.

I'm still not sure if I'll go back or not.

Best steak and customer service ever! The rib eye with gargonzola cheese fondue and lobster bisque was to die for. Our server Troy was very knowledgeable, attentive, and made our experience so much more enjoyable. This is our new favorite restaurant for special occasions.

Really not worth it for the price. If you are looking for a good steak you're better off going to Flemings down the street. There were people in basketball shorts eating dinner so the atmosphere does not match the price of food.

Totally lived up to expectations. We were a large party so we all got to try lots of different cuts of meat, and they were all excellent. Service was professional, attentive, and very friendly. Starters and dessert was equally as good. Can’t recommend enough.

I can't rave enough about this place. Not going to lie, it is pricey, but I haven't had a total package experience like that in my life. It was our first time going, so I didn't know what to expect. The waitstaff was incredible. He was so knowledgeable, made excellent recommendations and seemed to really enjoy what he does. The drinks are great. The steak was so good that I feel that it may have ruined other steaks, both future and retroactively. Both my husband and I agree that the looks on our faces were about 50% amazement, 30% delight, and 20% offence that other people call what they make "steaks" but none of them taste like this one did. Go here. Seriously.
